【释义】：
a．①(只作表语)单独的：We are not alone，we have friends all over the world．我们并不孤立，我们的朋友遍天下．I am not alone in this opinion．不只是我一个人有这种意见．②(用在名词或代词后)只有，仅有：He alone foresaw the danger．只有他预见到了那危险．
－ad．单独，独自：go out alone一个人出去．
△let(or leave)sb．(or sth．) alone听任，别理，别管，别打扰：Let him alone ；he is not well．别打扰他，他不太舒服．let well alone这样就行了(不要再画蛇添足)．let alone更不用说：The Chinese people are not afraid of death，let alone difficulties．中国人连死都不怕，更不用说困难了．In the old society the poor had nothing to eat，let alone go to school．在旧社会，穷人连饭都吃不上，更不用说上学了．
