prep．除…之外：We all attended the meeting except Comrade Wang．除王同志外，我们都参加了会议．She can do every kind of farm work except ploughing．她除了犁田以外什么农活都会干．Your books seem to be every where except where they ought to be．你的书好象到处都有，就是不在它们该放的地方．except for除了，只有：His lecture is good except for a few minor mistakes．他的讲演除了几个小错误外，还是很好的．except that除了，只是：This will do except that it is too long．除了太长外，这还行．(注意：介词 except 不能和not连用)．
