【释义】：
a．(little的最高级)最小的，最少的：the least number(sum)最低数(额)．We have not the least doubt about it．对此我们毫不怀疑．The least means shall be used to achieve the greatest end．要用最简便的方法取得最大的成果．
－ad．(little的最高级)最小，最少，最低程度：He talks least．他最少讲话．least of all最不：I like lauding least of all．我最不喜欢吹捧．
－n．最小，最少：A has little，B has less，and C has(the) least．甲有很少一点，乙更少，内最少．at least 1)起码，至少：He is at least as tall as you．他至少跟你一样高．2)不管怎样：You can at least try．不管怎样，你总可以试一试嘛．not in the least 一点也不：Philosophy is not in the least mysterious．哲学一点也不神秘．We must not in the least relax our vigilance against imperialism．我们一点也不能放松对帝国主义的警惕．to say the least of it说得客气些，至少可以说：It isn’t a very good suggestion，to say the least of it．至少可以说，这不是很好的建议．
