【释义】：
别是巴；(喻)结盟的见证
And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son; but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shall do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
And Abraham said, I will swear.
And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but today.
And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves? And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness upon me, that I have digged this well.
Wherefore he called that place Becr-sheba; because there they swear both of them.
Thus they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines. And Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.
Gen.21:22-33
当那时候，亚比米勒同他军长非各对亚伯拉罕说：“凡你所行的事都有神的保佑。
我愿你如今在这里指着神对我起誓，不要欺负我与我的儿子，并我的子孙。我怎样厚待了你，你也要照样厚待我与你所寄居这地的民。”
亚伯拉罕说：“我情愿起誓。”
从前亚比米勒的仆人霸占了一口井，亚伯拉罕为这事指责亚比米勒。
亚比米勒说：“谁作这事我不知道，你也没有告诉我，今日我才听见了。”
亚伯拉罕把七只母羊羔另放在一处。
亚比米勒向亚伯拉罕说：“你把这七只母羊羔放在一处是什么意思呢?”
他说：“你要从我手里受这七只母羊羔，作我挖这口井的证据。
”
所以他给那地方起名叫别是巴，因为他们两人在那里起了誓。
他们在别是巴立了约，亚比米勒就同他的军长非各起身回非利士地去了。
亚伯拉罕在别是巴栽上一棵垂丝柳树，又在那里求告耶和华永生神的名。
