大卫城；(喻)保障，坚强的后盾

Then came all the tribes of Isreal to David unto Hebron, and spake saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

Also in lime past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel.

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

In Hebron be reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking. David cannot come in hither.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.

2 Sam.5:l-10

以色列众支派来到希伯仑见大卫，说：“我们原是你的骨肉。

从前扫罗作我们王的时候，率领以色列人出入的是你。耶和华也曾应许你说：‘你必牧养我的民以色列，作以色列的君?”

于是以色列的长老都来到希伯仑见大卫王，大卫在希伯仑耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就给大卫傅油立他作以色列的王。

大卫登基的时候年三十岁，在位四十年。

在希伯仑作犹大王七年零六个月，在耶路撒冷作以色列和犹大王三十三年。

大卫和跟随他的人到了耶路撒冷，要攻打住那地方的耶布斯人。耶布斯人对大卫说：“你若不赶出瞎子、瘸子，必不能进这地方。”心里想大卫决不能进去。

然而大卫攻取了锡安的城砦，就是大卫的城。

当日大卫说：“谁攻打耶布斯人，从水道首先攻入我心里所恨恶的瘸子、瞎子的，他要升为军长和元帅。”从此有俗语说：“在那里有瞎子、瘸子，他不能进屋去。”

大卫住在城砦里，给城砦起个名叫大卫城。大卫又从米罗往里，周围筑墙。

大卫日见强盛，因为耶和华万军之神与他同在。
