狮坑中的但以理；(喻)真金不怕火

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

Then said these men. We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him. King Darius, live for ever.

All the presidents of the Kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

Now. 0 king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and decree.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day. and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee. O king; nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king. Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel. Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.

Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting; neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.

Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest, continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

Dan. 6:4-23

那时总长和总督寻找但以理误国的把柄，为要参他；只是找不着他的错误过失，因他忠心办事，毫无错误过失。

那些人便说：“我们要寻找参这但以理的把柄，除非在他神的律法中就寻不着。”

于是，总长和总督纷纷聚集来见王说：“愿大利乌王万岁!

国中的总长、钦差、总督、谋士和巡抚彼此商议，要立一条坚定的禁令，三十日内不拘何人，若在王以外或向神，或向人求什么，就必扔在狮子坑中。

王啊，现在求你立这禁令，加盖玉玺，使禁令决不更改，照玛代和波斯人的例，是不可更改的。”

于是大利乌王立这禁令，加盖玉玺。

但以理知道这禁令盖了玉玺，就到自己家里(他楼上的窗户开向耶路撒冷)，一日三次，双膝跪在他神面前，祷告感谢，与素常一样。

那些人就纷纷聚集，见但以理在他神面前祈祷垦求。

他们便进到王前，提王的禁令说：“王啊，三十日内不拘何人，若在王以外或向神、或向人求什么，必被扔在狮子坑中，王不是在这禁令上盖了玉玺吗?”王回答说：“实有这事，照玛代和波斯人的例是不可更改的。”

他们对王说：“王啊，那被掳之犹大人中的但以理不理你，也不遵你盖了玉玺的禁令，他竟一日三次祈祷。”

王听见这话，就甚愁烦，一心要救但以理，筹划解救他，直到日落的时候。

那些人就纷纷聚集来见王说：“王啊，当知道玛代人和波斯人有例，凡王所立的禁令和律例都不可更改。”

王下令，人就把但以理带来，扔在狮子坑中。王对但以理说：“你所常侍奉的神，他必救你。”

有人搬石头放在坑口，王用自己的玺和大臣的印封闭那坑，使惩办但以理的事毫无更改。

王回宫，终夜禁食，无人拿乐器到他面前，并且睡不着觉。

次日黎明，王就起来，急忙往狮子坑那里去。

临近坑边，哀声呼叫但以理，对但以理说：“永生神的仆人但以理啊，你所常侍奉的神能救你脱离狮子吗?”

但以理对王说：“愿王万岁!

我的神差遣使者封住狮子的口，叫狮子不伤我，因我在神面前无辜，我在王面前也没有行过亏损的事。

”

王就甚喜乐，吩咐人将但以理从坑里系上来。于是但以理从坑里被系上来，身上毫无伤损，因为他信赖他的神。
