And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the
window of the ark which he had made:
And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground:
But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
And he stayed yet other seven days: and again he set forth the dove out of the ark:
And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

过了四十天,挪亚开了方舟的窗户,
放出一只乌鸦去。
那乌鸦飞来飞去,直到地上的水都干了。
他又放出一只鸽子去,要看看水从地上退了没有。
但遍地上都是水,鸽子找不着落脚之地,就回到方舟挪亚那里,挪亚伸手把鸽子接进方舟来。
他又等了七天,再把鸽子从方舟放出去。
到了晚上,鸽子回到他那里,嘴里叼着一个新拧下来的橄榄叶子,挪亚就知道地上的水退了。
他又等了七天,放出鸽子去,鸽子就不再回来了。
