【释义】：

耶路撒冷；(喻)圣城；巩固之所

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

And David said on that day, Whosoever gelteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

2 Sam. 5: 6-9

大卫和跟随他的人到了耶路撒冷，要攻打住那地方的耶布斯人。

耶布斯人对大卫说：“你若不赶出瞎子、瘸子，必不能进这地方。”心里想大卫决不能进去。

然而大卫攻取锡安的保障，就是大卫的城。

当日大卫说：“谁攻打耶布斯人，当上水沟攻打我心里所恨恶的瘸子、瞎子。”从此有俗语说：“在那里有瞎子、瘸子，他不能进屋去。”

大卫住在保障里，给保障起名叫大卫城。大卫又从米罗以里，周围筑墙。

《撒母耳记下》5∶6－9

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

And David perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammuah. and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon.

Ibhar also, and Elishua. and Nepheg, and Japhia.

And Elishama. and Eliada. and Eliphalet.

2 Sam.5:11-16

推罗王希兰将香柏木运到大卫那里，又差遣使者和木匠、石匠给大卫建造宫殿。

大卫就知道耶和华坚立他作以色列王，又为自己的民以色列使他的国兴旺。

大卫离开希伯仑之后，在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生儿女。

在耶路撒冷所生的儿子，是沙母亚、朔罢、拿单、所罗门、

益辖、以利书亚、尼斐、雅非亚、

以利沙玛、以利雅大、以利法列。

《撒母耳记下》5∶11－16

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David look the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

So David waxed greater and greater; for the Lord of hosts was with him.

大卫和以色列众人到了耶路撒冷，就是耶布斯，那时耶布斯人住在那里。

耶布斯人对大卫说：“你决不能进这地方。”然而，大卫攻取锡安的保障，就是大卫的城。

大卫说：“谁先攻打耶布斯人，必作首领元帅。”洗鲁雅的儿子约押先上去，就作了元帅。

大卫住在保障里，所以那保障叫作大卫城。

大卫又从米罗起，四围建筑城墙，其余的是约押修理。

大卫日见强盛，因为万军之耶和华与他同在。
