【释义】：

波阿斯娶路得；(喻)为死者留名

Then said Bo-az, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Na-o-mi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

Ruth 4; 5-6

波阿斯说：“你从拿俄米手中买这地的时候，也当娶死人的妻摩押女子路得，使死人在产业上存留他的名。

”

那人说：“这样我就不能赎了，恐怕于我的产业有碍。你可以赎我所当赎的，我不能赎了。

”

《路得记》4∶5－6

And Bo-az said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was E-lim-e-lech's and all that was Chi-li-on's and Mah-16n's, of the hand of Na-O-mi.

Moreover Ruth the Moabiless, the wife of Mah-16n, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Eph-ro-tah, and be famous in Beth-lehem:

And let thy house be like the house of Phar-ez, whom Ta-mar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the Lord shall give thee of this young woman. So Bo-az took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son.

Ruth 4:9-13

波阿斯对长老和众民说：“你们今日作见证，凡属以利米勒和基连、玛伦的，我都从拿俄米手中置买了，

又娶了玛伦的妻摩押女子路得为妻，好在死人的产业上存留他的名，免得他的名在本族本乡灭没。你们今日可以作见证。

”

在城门坐着的众民和长老都说：“我们作见证。愿耶和华使进你家的这女子，像建立以色列家的拉结、利亚二人一样。

又愿你在以法他得亨通，在伯利恒得名声。

愿耶和华从这少年女子赐你后裔，使你的家像他玛从犹大所生法勒斯的家一般。

”

于是波阿斯娶了路得为妻，与她同房。耶和华使她怀孕生了一个儿子。
