And the Lord sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him.There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as daughter.
And there came a traveller unto the rich man,and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd,to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb,and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan.As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die.

耶和华差遣拿单去见大卫。
拿单到了大卫那里,对他说:“在一座城里有两个人:一个是富户,一个是穷人。
穷人除了所买来养活的一只小母羊羔之外,别无所有。
羊羔在他家里和他儿女一同长大,吃他所吃的,喝他所喝的,睡在他怀中。在他看来如同女儿一样。
有一客人来到这富户家里,富户舍不得从自己牛群羊群中取一只预备给客人吃,却取了那穷人的羊羔,预备给客人吃。”
大卫就甚恼怒那人,对拿单说:“我指着永生的耶和华起誓,行这事的人该死!”
