【释义】:

无花果叶;(喻)遮羞布

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the

trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God

hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Gen.3:2-7

女人对说:“园中树上的果子,我们可以吃;

惟有园当中那棵树上的果子,神曾说:‘你们不可吃,也不可摸,免得你们死?”

蛇对女人说:“你们不一定死,

因为神知道,你们吃的日子眼睛就明亮了,你们便如神能知道善恶。

于是,女人见那棵树的果子好作食物,也悦人的眼目,且是可喜爱的,能使人有智慧,就摘下果子来吃了;又给她丈夫,她丈夫也吃了。

他们两人的眼睛就明亮了,才知道自己是赤身露体,便拿无花果树的叶子,为自己编作裙子。
