【释义】：

为某人洗脚；(喻)伺候某人，爱的表率

And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said. Blessed be the Lord, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the Lord hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.

And when the servant of David were come to Abigail to Carmel. they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife.

And she rose, and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servant of my lord.

And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of her's that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David and became his wife.

1 Sam.25:39-42

大卫听见拿八死了，就说：“应当称颂耶和华，因他伸了拿八羞辱我的冤，又阻止仆人行恶，也使拿八的恶归到拿八的头上。

”于是大卫打发人去与亚比该说，要娶她为妻。

大卫的仆人到迦密见亚比该，对她说：“大卫打发我们来见你，想要娶你为妻。”

亚比该就起来，俯伏在地，说：“我情愿作婢女，洗我主仆人的脚。”

亚比该立刻起身，骑上驴，带着五个使女，跟从大卫的使者去了，就作了大卫的妻。
