生物学特性 宿主为鹦鹉(Amazona)和澳洲长尾小鹦鹉(Melopsittacus)，引起腹泻，昏迷，体衰3～7天后死亡。1931年首先从巴西鹦鹉中获得该病毒。用鸡肾细胞培养。

分类 疱疹病毒科(Herpesviridae)。
